The State of Hunger in Mozambique

Mozambique is one of the four African countries most exposed to extreme climate shocks, such as cyclones, tropical storms, and floods. Additionally, violent insecurity in the north in recent years has left 1.1 million people acutely food insecure and forced more than one million people to flee their homes.

How We're Helping in Mozambique

Action Against Hunger works in northern Mozambique to support families in crisis. Our strategy focuses on:

• Responding rapidly in crises to assess and distribute emergency supplies.

• Providing food assistance and cash transfers.

• Revitalizing agriculture and fishing and diversifying livelihoods.

• Rehabilitating destroyed water and sanitation infrastructure.

• Providing primary healthcare, including psychosocial support, by setting up or deploying mobile health teams.
